A version-pinned workflow for building, testing, starting, and debugging ZooKeeper source.
This is a historical learning note and may contain outdated or incomplete understanding.
For source analysis, check out an exact ZooKeeper release/tag and use that version’s documented JDK/build-tool prerequisites. Build and run the project’s tests before debugging one local server/ensemble path.
A useful source-reading sequence is server startup → request processing → leader/follower roles → persistence → ZAB/recovery → client session/watch handling.
Old IDE/build instructions become obsolete quickly; record the exact tag and use the build files/documentation shipped with that source tree.
